Selecting the right camp for your child is a big decision. At Horseshoe, we believe the best way for your son to see what camp is all about is to spend the weekend living like a Horseshoe camper. Rookie Weekend allows your son to get a taste of overnight camp and feel the Horseshoe Spirit.
What is Rookie Weekend?
Your son will spend three days and two nights living like a true Horseshoe camper. Rookies will sample the wide range of activities offered at Horseshoe while making new friends. Rookies will get a taste of the activities and experiences he’ll have as a Horseshoe camper.
Who runs Rookie Weekend?
Rookie Weekend will be headed up by Horseshoe’s own Nate Scheck. Nate is a senior member of Horseshoe’s Leadership Team. Assisting Nate will be a number of our key staff, former counselors and campers. Cabin 14, our oldest campers, will be on hand to help our Rookies feel comfortable throughout the weekend.
How will the Rookies get to Camp?
Horseshoe staff will accompany the Rookies on an air-conditioned bus, just like Horseshoe campers.
Who can attend Rookie Weekend?
Rookie Weekend is designed for future campers currently in 1st and 2nd grade. Rookies do not need to be from current Horseshoe families. Anyone is welcome to experience this fantastic weekend.
