Our program at Horseshoe is designed to allow boys to explore
individual interests, participate in group activities and team
sports while promoting self-esteem, camaraderie and spirit.
Each week campers create their own “A” and “B”
activities which are alternated each day. With the help of their
counselors, campers choose from a diverse list of activities that
he would like to develop or improve in. Younger campers are automatically
scheduled for swimming instruction.
In the afternoon, campers participate in “leagues”.
Each team will have a counselor coach and will participate in
all team sports. At the end of the session playoffs will be held
in each age group for the honor of the “plaque” that
will be proudly hung in the mess hall.
Many campers favorite part of our action-packed day is our “evening
programs”. The entire camp comes together for a fun, creative
event.
Trip day is a special day at Horseshoe, where campers enjoy
either a trip out of camp or a special day in camp.

Every week we send out canoe, backpacking, camping and sailing trips to the lakes and rivers of the Northwoods like the Namekagon, Flambeau, and Brule. Each summer the oldest boys journey to Canada for a seven day adventure.
Campers have the opportunity to participate in inter-camp special
events like ski invitationals, sailing regattas, tennis tournaments
and swim meets.
Our Golden Horseshoe Honor Society, a goal-oriented program which each boy strives to enter, encourages campers to participate in all areas of camp and develop self-esteem through this achievement.
Whether it is the Green/Blue Competition with games, song &
cheer and an all-night treasure hunt, or the Shoe Madness where
each camper is part of a college team, the excitement never ends
at Horseshoe.Special theme days like camper/counselor day, carnival
day and socials with neighboring girls camps, add excitement and
diversity to our program.
On Sunday evenings, campers and counselors share in a magical
ceremony called Council Horseshoe – a traditional and unique
evening loved by all.
